This was my first custom designed remodel on our home. I had a good
idea of what I liked. The more I browsed the more confused I became. I called Hazel one night just to talk and I told her of my frustration. She promised to come the next day to see a few things and within a week she had fabric swatches, chair frame pictures and was going to the High Point Furniture Market and said she'd keep and eye out. Before the Christmas holiday our two rooms were complete, accessories and all!!! I would never have believed my house could be so beautiful.
She is my friend and my designer forever!
My daughter was obsessed with having her name on her bedroom wall. It was a trend she saw in a magazine. I thought about a stencil, but it was plain. I did a test on a piece of art paper and it did not look anything like the magazine. I asked Hazel if she had any ideas? I knew she has done art projects but this was a small job. She sat down with me and showed me a few websites where we could custom design a laser stencil for a sharper more artistic look. She also suggested painting the room first also. We did and it came out perfect.
I didn't' really think a man needed an interior designer, but just a little help to update the look of a house I was moving into after losing my wife. The house was small but in move in ready condition. Simply Exceptional had the carpets steam cleaned, had new two inch blinds installed, and my dining room chairs reupholstered. They even called a moving company to back and transport for me. They made several suggestions on how much of the old furnishing to take and what to sell or donate. I plan to do a few more projects real soon. Just trying to adjust to a different life.
I had a very small budget so I needed to make sure I got the best bang for my small bucks. Simply Exceptional shopped for me, and purchased items that I would have never found on my own. They mixed new and vintage together and gave me a look that always gets complimented every time I have company. I plan to have them back to do another room, and this time I know I can relax during the process.
This was a "milestone birthday party for me. I needed my party to reflect, the professional adult because I was mixing my colleagues and my friends together. I knew the colors I liked but I could not find them anywhere. I couldn't get the venue I wanted and I starting all the preparations a little too late. I thought it would be easy, but it soon became stressful. I expected too much, and I was not making good progress. Someone told me about a party they attended where Simply Exceptional done all the planning. I called and made an appointment. I made a lot of excuses for not having made any progress. But my big issue was the venue. Well not only could Simply Exceptional get the colors I wanted, they got the locations and a few other things that I didn't even think of that made my party extremely memorable for me and for all my guest. Everyone blended as one group like friends rather than two groups of works friends and personal friends. I will always call Simply Exceptional for big or small events.
I enjoy hosting special events. My passion is political awareness. My house needed an update so I added a room. Afterwards I asked Hazel about some old furniture that was inherited. It was sentimental but in horrible shape. No one could or would have believed me when I talked about going on a fabric hunting trip until the furniture was finished and in my home. I now understand what Hazel meant when she saw the furniture pieces and said..."they have good bones and we will strip it down to the frames and make it beautiful again". It sits better than brand new furniture and it is better.
